On September 25, 2025, the Vietnam Association of Medical and Biomedical Research & Applications (VAMBRA) collaborated with Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU), SingHealth (Singapore), and VietHealth in a high-level working session. This meeting paved the way for international cooperation in biomedical research, technology application, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare.

VAMBRA’s Role as a Strategic Bridge

True to its mission of connecting domestic institutes, universities, and hospitals with world-leading medical partners, VAMBRA proactively facilitated this partnership between TDMU and SingHealth. This initiative represents a significant step forward in building an international biomedical network where Vietnam plays an active and leading role.

TDMU’s Impressive Research and Training Ecosystem

During the session, TDMU’s leadership—including Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan (President), Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong (Former Chairman of the University Council), and representatives from the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy, Institute of Pharmacy and Health Food, and the Institute of Engineering and Technology—presented their strategic vision for the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

The University aims to develop a comprehensive, closed-loop healthcare ecosystem that integrates education, research, biotechnology, clinical practice, and pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, TDMU is committed to driving innovation to meet the evolving healthcare needs of modern society.

Commitment from SingHealth – A Strategic International Partner

On behalf of SingHealth, Dr. Cheong Wai Chye, Deputy Director of the Alice Lee Innovation Centre of Excellence (A.L.I.C.E), Singapore, introduced the nation's largest public healthcare cluster, encompassing a wide network of hospitals and specialty centers. SingHealth expressed a strong interest in expanding its collaboration with Vietnam, specifically focusing on:

  • R&D of Biomedical Products: Developing solutions to serve patients and the broader healthcare system.

  • Clinical Trials: Partnering on standardized clinical research.

  • AI Applications in Healthcare: Advancing the integration of artificial intelligence in medical settings.

  • Technology Transfer: Facilitating knowledge exchange and connecting international research networks.

Long-term Collaboration Prospects

The parties reached a consensus to develop a detailed cooperative roadmap. This plan includes initiating joint research projects, establishing state-of-the-art laboratories for training and technology transfer, and fostering direct connections between Vietnamese and Singaporean research groups to expand the global collaborative network.

🤝 This event marks a significant milestone in Thu Dau Mot University’s (TDMU) international integration efforts. Simultaneously, it reaffirms VAMBRA’s pivotal role as a strategic catalyst, successfully bridging the gap between Vietnam’s medical community and the region's leading healthcare hubs.
