VAMBRA and UMP Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Digital Transformation and Biomedical Innovation

On March 4, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Association for Medical and Biological Research and Application (VAMBRA) and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP) held a high-level meeting to finalize a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration marks a significant milestone in bridging cutting-edge technology application with Vietnam’s premier medical education and research institution.

A key outcome of the working session was the agreement to establish a VAMBRA Representative Office within the UMP campus. This office will serve as a dedicated coordination hub, streamlining the implementation of joint research initiatives, training programs, and technology transfer activities between the two entities.

Guided by national resolutions on digital transformation and healthcare innovation, VAMBRA and UMP have committed to a five-year partnership focused on four core areas:

Healthcare Human Resource Development & Digital Transformation: Collaborative training and capacity building for staff and students, specifically targeting AI applications in healthcare, medical data analytics, electronic health records, and digital hospital systems.
Professional Information & Data Sharing: Establishing secure and transparent platforms to share scientific research databases, sociological survey results, and professional publications while ensuring full legal compliance.
Joint Events & Communication: Co-hosting national and international scientific conferences and forums to promote medical innovation and raise public awareness regarding modern healthcare technologies.
Scientific Research & Technology Transfer: Forming joint research groups to mobilize domestic and international resources for innovative projects, focusing on the practical application and commercialization of biomedical research.

To ensure the effectiveness of this partnership, VAMBRA will designate several specialized affiliated units to implement activities and programs in accordance with the MOU.

UMP leadership has committed to directing its functional departments and units to work closely with VAMBRA, providing the necessary guidance and oversight to achieve sustainable results that contribute to the development of Vietnam's healthcare sector.
