VAMBRA Signs Collaboration Agreement with University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP) to Advance Biomedical Training and Research in the Digital Era

The partnership between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Association for Biomedical Research and Application establishes a foundation for positioning technology, data, and innovation as new drivers of medical education and research development in Vietnam.\
Ho Chi Minh City, March 27, 2026 – As part of the 42nd Scientific and Technical Conference, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with VAMBRA at its main campus (217 Hong Bang Street, Cho Lon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). The event marks a significant step in expanding collaboration between a leading medical training institution and a professional organization in biomedical technology, aiming to strengthen the linkage between education, research, and practical application.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat, President of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized:
“In the context of ongoing digital transformation in the healthcare sector, strengthening the integration between education, research, and technological application is essential. This partnership with VAMBRA will enable the University to access valuable professional resources while promoting training and research activities that are closely aligned with real-world practice.”
Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate on training and healthcare workforce development, with a focus on updating knowledge and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, health data analytics, and health information systems. The partnership also includes the development of specialized training programs, learning materials, and enhanced professional exchange among experts, faculty members, and learners.
Beyond education, the collaboration will actively promote scientific research activities, including the co-development and implementation of applied research projects, alongside the gradual expansion of technology transfer initiatives. Notably, both parties aim to foster innovation in the biomedical field and plan to jointly establish and operate an innovation center at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. This center is envisioned to serve as a hub connecting education, research, and technological application. By integrating research capacity, professional expertise, and innovation resources, the partnership is expected to enhance research quality and accelerate the translation of scientific outcomes into practical healthcare solutions for the population.
Representing VAMBRA, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huan shared:

The signing ceremony was held as a part of the 42nd Scientific and Technical Conference – an annual event of the University, held from March 27–28, 2026, under the theme “Medicine in the Era of Sustainable Development.” The conference gathers numerous domestic and international experts, featuring activities such as continuing medical education, scientific presentations, thematic discussions, and showcases of the latest advancements in medicine.

Through these activities, the conference serves as an academic platform for knowledge exchange, updates on emerging developments, and strengthening connections among institutions involved in medical education, research, and practice.
In the coming period, both parties will implement in-depth collaborative activities, including scientific conferences, training programs, and academic forums, thereby fostering expert networking and continuous knowledge exchange. Building on this partnership, both sides aim to progressively establish a strong integration between education, research, and application, contributing to the enhancement of the healthcare workforce and promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s healthcare sector in the digital era.
