As part of a series of activities to promote the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) initiative in Vietnam, the Vietnam Association of Medical and Biomedical Research & Applications (VAMBRA) recently organized a field visit and collaborative exchange for experts from the Global Ultrasound Institute (GUSI, USA) at Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) and Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital.
Bridging International Expertise with Local Practice
In its role as a strategic catalyst, VAMBRA led the GUSI expert delegation to work directly with TDMU and Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital. These two institutions are pioneers in innovation and high-tech applications in medical training and clinical practice within the Southern Key Economic Region.
The site visit aimed to provide international experts with a realistic assessment of Vietnam's healthcare infrastructure, training capacity, and clinical needs. These insights will serve as the foundation for developing a tailored and effective collaborative roadmap.

Opening a New Chapter in Multilateral Cooperation
Representatives from GUSI highly commended VAMBRA’s proactivity and professionalism in coordination, as well as the significant development potential of the partner institutions in Binh Duong. The presence of GUSI—a prestigious research organization affiliated with a major U.S. university—facilitated by VAMBRA, promises to bring world-class training resources and high-quality technology to the region's healthcare sector.
Reflecting on the visit, a VAMBRA representative stated:
"Bringing international organizations like GUSI to conduct on-site surveys in Binh Duong is a testament to VAMBRA’s commitment. We do not just sign MOUs; we are determined to execute field activities to ensure that the most advanced medical technologies are effectively implemented in Vietnam as soon as possible."
The mission concluded successfully, laying a solid foundation for training projects and modern ultrasound technology transfer in 2026, aiming toward the modernization of the healthcare landscape in Southeast Asia.
